Sloth does not always look like doing nothing. Sometimes it looks like answering emails, checking off small tasks, or staying busy with everything except the responsibility God has actually given you.
In this episode of Men Who Understood the Times, Michael and Zachary are joined by personal trainer and online nutrition coach Sam Stuebs to examine the deadly sin of sloth and the comfort we often disguise as rest.
They discuss how convenience can train us to expect results without effort, how neglect slowly weakens the body and our ability to serve, and why Christian discipline begins with the gospel rather than vanity or shame.
The conversation also covers physical fitness, pastoral leadership, accountability in marriage and the church, and how to begin when motivation is gone. The goal is not perfection or appearance. It is faithful stewardship of the body God has given us so we can better serve our families, neighbors, and churches.
